Windsocks As a kite accessory, windsocks can be used as a stabilising drogue in heavier winds, as a line climber, or simply for decoration. At home, Windsocks, Wind Forms and Twisters are a colourful way to brighten up both indoors and outdoors - attached to a pole or hook they add colour and movement to gardens, verandas, decks, windows or entranceways. They need to be hung with 360º clear space around them so they can flap whatever way the wind is blowing without touching any hard surface or catching any twiggy plants which will damage the fabric. Wind Wheels, Scarecrows, Banners and Flags can also be staked in the garden to show you which way the wind is blowing, keep birds and cats away from the garden, and to create a festive look. These items are not recommended for permanent display as fabric and materials will fade and deteriorate in sunlight and strong winds. While we endeavour to have up to date pictures of product, colours are subject to change and the item despatched may not be exactly the same as that shown or selected. Unless marked NZ Made or otherwise, these products will be imported, having been made in China. It has become impossible to design and manufacture locally at a competitive price. Wind socks do not have "lift", so they won't fly like a kite. They need to be attached to a pole, or hook, so they can swing freely in the wind.
