There
is one loose spar - this is the spreader which holds the kite
open and goes into the fittings on either side at the back
of the kite.
The keel
at the front of the kite is where you attach the flying line.
For light to moderate winds attach the line at the eyelet
on the corner of the keel.
If the
wind is strong, you can attach a tail to the loop at the bottom
of the spine. A tail will add more weight and the kite won't
fly as high.
